    My pic of the day is the project of the weekend. Adding 7 ft of counterspace and cabinets to the kitchen so we won't be fighting over canning and brewing space now. :D cabinets.

    Horse got loose today, freaked out when they tried to lasso him and wiped out on the pavement. He's fine now I think but probably pretty sore.

    Just finished up this project a couple days ago. Uncle was wanting to put this well to use as a back up water supply. Plans are for a solar set up in the future, but for now this will work. He wanted red so it could be seen while brush hoggin. Not my choice of color...;)

    The well is just over 300 feet with about 240 feet cased. Water level is currently @ 31 feet from the top of the casing/base of the pump, which is about the max this pump will pull. While fabing the well cap I welded a 1 1/4" x 3" threaded nipple through the center so when the weather gets down to freezing I can remove the pump and thread a cap to cover the hole. Going down into the casing is 120' of 1 1/4" PVC pipe.:)

    One of the perks of my job is everybody pretty much leaves me alone. I've been stopping here for lunch for the past couple of years and usually eat sitting on some rocks where I park next to a stream. Today I thought to take a few extra minutes and have me a walk down an adjacent path. Just a few hundred yards in I found a picnic table set under a shade tree with a nice view. So I took out my pipe and enjoyed a bowl of Black Cavendish and the last of my coffee. I was serenaded by crickets, bullfrogs and chick-a-dee's and watched a hawk soaring in lazy circles above.
    So next time you've stopped somewhere you usually do, have a look 'round.
