    Yes they do shut down during high winds. thats not what did this one in.

    That’s in Europe area Scotland if I remember right.
    They were working on the brakes and didn’t get them together properly and started the turbine in auto mode and not in service mode which with faulty brakes couldn’t stop.
    They climbed down and called authorities, and filmed it. Nothing can be done once they over speed except watch the show.
