Why military boots are important to own in bad times

Military gear is usually of high quality, will withstand a lot of abuse, and made to last. Wool socks with any boot are a necessity. Almost no leather boot will protect from frostbite or trench foot, if exposed to the elements for prolonged periods of time.

 

Also, military surplus is usually cheap! Years ago, I tried to convince my church mission group to buy military surplus clothing, footwear, and such to send to our missions in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. My reasons were; #1-Cheap=more, #2-Durable, and #3-It gets COLD over there, but NO we couldn't do that cause it made too much sense!
