Never Shot it but my Uncle gave me his CMP Garand he got in the 80's. Like new, never refinshed, International Harvester M1 from the 50's. When he gave to me he told me it would look better in Walnut Stocks. I wouldn't dare remove the Birch. Sentimental I guess.
well i don't own one, yet... but i was issued a 727(thats the navies designation for it). it's a full auto M4. i have a 203 on it, i like both. but it's the first rifle i can call mine.
20 gauge single shot ,22 bolt action .hunted something every day .in till i found out about cherleaders.lol
My Norinco M14S (M1A copy). I do my best shooting with this rifle and it's iron sights. For some reason I do ALOT better with it than I do with my AR's.
Probably my SOCOMII and my AKS-74.....but maybe not in that order? <--- that's just too funny for words! Byte
My 'favorite' rifle changes periodically as I shoot different calibers, or acquire something 'new-to-me'. Right now, I am favoring my little BRNO ZBK-110 singleshot rifle in .22 Hornet - having a ball trying different handloads. Most times, I tend to favor any one of several twentytwo rimfires I have. I like making the 'wee holes' and groups.
My Savage 340 and my (long gone) Remington Nylon 66 would be my favorites because they have special meaning to me.
Favorite rifle would be my .54 cal Lyman Great Plains Rifle with a 1-32 twist barrel for big conicals. Nothing quite as satisfying the sound of a 550 grain conical bitch slapping anything dumb enough to get in its way.
The best I ever owned was a double gun. A savage over and under field gun. I think it was the model 24G or 24 F. It had the .22 magnum on top and the 20 gauge shotgun under. I took a lot of game with that combo gun, and it fed me and my family for a few years. I miss that weapon. I out shot others when it cme to hunting dove and partridge or rabbits. I went up against double barreled Brownings and Winchester pumps. I was on vacation when the house was burglarized and I lost it. Sure do miss it, and would have loved to pass it on to my sons. Bill
Ok, I'm fickle. My current favorite is a 108 year old Remington Autoloading Rifle in .35 Remington. It's not a long range gun but with iron sights and my eyes, it shoot a hella better than I do.
I have so many, it is hard to say, which one is my "Favorite".... Each has a "Story" and those are "Near and Dear" to Me, and the family. ....
The Savage model #24, .22lr/.410, is the gun all of us kids learned to hunt with. It is owned by my father, and he will not part with it. I love that gun, and it has it's own gun forums, as a cult classic. However, it was discontinued in that size. (Other sizes were still available). It has now be redesigned and reintroduced as the model #42.
Savage model 99 takedown in .22Hi Power. Was my fathers and passed to me. Has since been passed to a son who has passed it on to his son. Dead on accurate and has many deer to it's credit before Texas decided it was too small a caliber for deer. Is now a hog hunter and just may see a second century pass before it retires.
