^^Ditto on this. It brings a whole new vibe to "home made". I can't usually get the same results every time I cook. I'll make an awesome dish one night, but when I try to make it again, it usually comes out so-so... I can't say that on my marinades and chili. I have those down pat. It took me 10 years to get my chili just right. I won second place in a chili cook off. I'm very proud of that, even though the first place winner put me to shame. My marinades I've toyed around with for years and (at least in my own head), I can compete with anyone when it comes to a BBQ. But, put me on the stove, and it will be Gordon Ramsey one night, but a failed restaurant the next night on the same dish. Tonight, I made chicken cutlets. I put traditional balsamic vinegar in the eggs, seasoned the flour with dill, garlic powder, honey hickory seasoning, smoked paprika, with a little salt and pepper. I made some wild rice. So, I put that over the cutlets and my lettuce from the garden was about ready. I laid that over the top and finished it off with ranch dressing.
Black beans, grilled chicken, salsa, corn, okra, onions, bell peppers, and jalapeños simmered together and served in a bowl full of tortilla chips with a dab of sour cream. I'm still being creative while rotating out the old stuff in freezer/pantry/fridge
Pizza hut supreme thin crust pizza. A favorite from my childhood and was a rare and wonderful treat in that I didn't have to cook it myself. There are amazing craft pizzas out there but sometimes a flashback is just what you need.
Cajun eggs and rice tonight. It's too hot to eat heavy and life is too short for cold supper. Except ravioli
Hormel Completes Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, heated in a steamer pot. Taters come out soft and the gravy blends in, nice stuff! Gonna have it again tonight.
Pork chops in a slow cooker with mushroom soup, garlic, onions, carrots and sweet potatoes. Stovetop stuffing on the side.
Tonight I cooked bacon, then sauteed yellow squash, zucchini, corn, onions, peas, and broccoli. Then I threw in purple hull peas. Dang good
That sounds good! I bbq'd a venison roast and put it into loaded baked sweet potatoes. The rest will be mixed with eggs for this week's breakfast tacos
Jalapeño johnny cakes topped with cheesy eggs and spam. Not last night but this lazy holiday morning.
Jalapeño bacon cheese grits topped with eggs and leftover green chili chicken verde. No, I'm not going to live forever. I'll need energy when coons are on the menu.
