What Made You Happy Today?

My favorite SMP Milspec lantern with both air tubes wide open. (High altitude set-up) I'm at 60 feet above sea level here, so it's a howling monster, rivaling the light output of the kerosene Coleman 201 on the other side of the porch.
Still hot enough for beach shorts and bare feet tonight, and no bugs other than a few moths.

 

I've been sick for 3 weeks with some virus, and haven't been able to clean my house, too tired,

Today my house is clean... this makes me so happy!

 

The picture doesn't do these things justice. Hard boiled eggs wrapped in sausage. Three kinds today. Regular sausage, Italian sausage, and my favorite, pancake and sausage. Somebody brought them in for us today, and I will try to secure the recipe and instructions for making them.

Somehow all the gas was cooked out of these eggs. Most hard boiled eggs make me gassy, but today I have been air tight.

 

From a higher vantage point, I watched a friend get hopelessly lost in a 2 acre thicket. I could see the grass and small trees waving as he went by. It looked like he was doing a life size crossword puzzle in there. My yelling instructions and laughing my ass off didn't help at all.

 

Most folks call those Scottish eggs but I've heard a Mexican call them Dragon balls.

 

Sweet Vidalia Onions came in today. Only 40 pounds this year.

 

Truly one of my favorites and probably the best all around! Walla Walla's are my favorite for eating raw, but you can't cook them worth a darn. Mayan Sweets are real good as well. Long as I can find one of the three I'm a happy camper!

I have 3 12 foot benches left then IM done.
All the fat a$$ will be secure & safe .. the cute ones will leave there mark on my wood !!

Just need the kids to stain / treat / paint them .

Made a plate of hot biscuits for lunch - with butter and jam ....happy dance time.

I sat at a stop light next to the local gas station I noticed the gas price at 2.69 a gallon, a flicker of movement a few seconds later caught my eye, I looked back and the price was now at 2.75.
As I drove past in my leaf.

 

My wife,I had out in the garden digging potatoes,I stayed on tractor and let her pick them up. I though she would never get thru.

 

There are probably a lot of those three letter diagnoses to describe my behavior, but I think it was mostly OLD that I was struggling with today. I had a late model convertible top on the floor in pieces, getting a new headliner, water management bag and fifth bow.
Ran out of the very specific rivets I needed so I had some slack time to do a little work on another project.

How do you convince a bunch of old Marines that when they are out in public wearing a red blazer, that they do not button the bottom button. EVER! I've given gentle hints before, provided the history of the "always, sometimes, never rule" and always set the example. In this crowd, being under 60, I'm a youngster, so I thought I might find something that they could relate to. I think these will help make my point.

 

I suggest you find a DI to go Full Proper Jacket on them.

 

Got my first 12 foot bench completed , solid for all the tubbys !!

I just decided to be happy today.... looks like it worked
