I am actually looking at leather fire fighting gloves. They tend to be over built, and as a bonus fire resistant. Not cheap by a long shot. Not sure which pair(s) i'll wind up with yet. Still researching.

I prefer goat skin gloves with a welders cuff. I just got used to them in my millwright days when a little torch or TIG work might come up.
