Just read "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" and "The Flying Tigers". Need to look up "God Is My Co-Pilot" and "Baa-Baa Black Sheep" again.
"The Unknowns" by Patrick K O'Donnell. It's the story of the men chosen to accompany the body of the Unknown Soldier for interment in Arlington. They were all highly decorated troops, so it's a good read. They were some amazing guys. Edited in: It's a sad read. It was the beginning of a new type of warfare with massive casualties, gas, air, armor and artillery that was innovative & grimly efficient.
Robert Adams horse clans novels... https://www.thriftbooks.com/series/horseclans/41576/ you can get the kindle versions on amazon... NOTE: while many like this author and these books... there is a portion of our society that... well maybe the hate the author... ran into the woman that owned the book store... asked her if she had any of his work... the look she gave me... sheer... rage?... hatred??? never went to her store again... has to do with SOME of his villains and the manner he portrayed them...
Surprising yes Lol. Pretty sure I won't be doing much programming with it though. Just skimming those chapters. I'm in the process of a ubitx build and its giving me motivation to learn more of the possibilities of amateur radio.
I am re-reading Washington Irving's Tour of the Prairies. It is his journal about a jaunt through the "Indian Territory" with a troop of mounted Rangers in 1832. The book is full of insight to the time period , as well as a exciting read with both humor and hunting / travel adventures and hardships. Andy
Just finished the paperback. I was in the Bookend, looking for familiar authors and remembered The Beach, by Nevil Shute. I asked James if he had any more from this author. I scored four paperbacks for a dollar each. I finished The Chequer Board just as Round The Bend arrived in the mail. I won't give any spoliers on either book, but I do enjoy his writing. Now really enjoying the older (1951) hard cover.

I read The Last Canadian some years ago. This is the same story with only three paragraphs altered and a title change. That's reason enough for me to read the story again. Makes me laugh!
Yes. You’ll like it I’m sure. I need to get back to reading more. Great reminder you sent me. All this other noise is noise.
"Marie: An episode in the life of the late Alan Quartermain" --H Rider Haggard "The Collected Poems of Emily Dickenson" The Bible- "Jeremiah chapter 11" ------I have a very eclectic interest....
I can't get into poetry that rhymes less than a limerick. I'm sure there's something wonderful to be found for most people but it's wasted on me. Generally, I consider poetry as a terribly inefficient way to say what you want to say. Just spit it out, dang it!
