What Are You Doing To Prepare For The Pole Flip?

I was actually just curious to see if anyone had prepared for something like this. The boomerang always comes back at me...

Actually the proof is in the pudding. Lots of posts never get a reply, we are here on page 3 of replies. Some interesting comments, some rabbit holes, some OMG, but in my mind a very worth while and thought provoking post. So much better than "orange hair man bad" or a anti BLM rant. Things like this keep me coming back, well food and gun porn as well.

If it is extinction level event I plan on grabbing my ankles, putting my head between my knees and kissing my ass goodbye. For all other more probable issues I will see if between my preps, my prayers and my luck we will make it through. I have been in very high magetic fields before at work. Some people cannot take it. The one thing the suspicious observer guy is saying is that the changing magnetic field is making some people behave erratically and I believe that. Working with industrial grade magnetic fields you see how they can unnerve some people. Figure the earth’s magnetic field is between .25-.65Gauss. Going in an MRI machine is 5,000-30,000 gauss. Most induatrial fields are between 100-1000G depending on the equipment.

The only pole that I have control of is the fishing pole in my hand....one can even drag in a small gator if you take you're time.
The larger gators will drag the boat around until one shears the line off...and a push pole but haven't used one in years.

 

Yet another event that you shouldn't waste your time preparing for.
If our local star decides to wipe the slate clean. Nothing you can do will prevent it.

Of course the half of Earth not facing the Sun would be totally safe. Meh, you haven't factored in that the Earth rotates on it's axis, so in the event of a solar discombobulation, Earthlings will be roasted crispy, evenly like they are on a planetary BBQ spit / rotisserie.

It was a question to get people to start thinking. Obviously there are different kinds of novae and we have survived an event like this in the past if it has happened. I mean, sheesh, we even survived when the earth was flat with out falling off (except those vikings) so, you know, anythings possible.

 

If we had another Carrington class event. It may not wipe us out via solar radiation/winds but grid down / internet .. yeah, it won't be too long before society turns on it's self.
Imagine no refrigeration, no banks,no internet/comms, no gps, no gas pumps, no traffic lights, no water, no sales at grocery stores.
Yep. Chaos. Probably would be better if we were actually consumed in a super nova. Way faster.

 

I'm somewhat more optimistic. Sure, many may die in such a technological reset, but one of the essential qualties of survivors is adaptability... The concentration camps in WW2 are ample examples of that truism...survival certainly depended on luck, but also the ability to adapt to hostile circumstances and environments and to identify and exploit every mechanism and opportunity to survive just that little bit longer until liberation.

I don't think that a reset back to 18th and 19th century technology would be a very fun experience...it would be doable...folk in the 18th and 19th centuries did it on a daily basis...they had to be hardy and adaptable...or they died.
