Saving and using old lint from the dryer as improvised fuel for fire starters.

 

Old tires make awesome fenders. And they're everywhere. They take any kind of beating and just spring right back into shape. Stand on them, drop a log on them... beat them just for fun. All you need is a knife and an angle grinder or something to cut the bead cable. Mount them with some bolts and fender washers and you're good to go. Much better than the originals. They even work for double axle trailers and dual wheels- bolt them together if you like.

 

You can see the whopping investment in this one. I buy all the old large size pan lids I can find to cut out as lantern reflectors and shades. Two of these have been doing double duty as brass sorting pans at the range and field expedient wash basins. This one is approximately 18" in diameter.
Not bad for a twenty five cent investment.




Lids that still have the handle attached will fetch almost a dollar, so I prefer the previously broken ones.
