The tree frogs are going nuts with all this rain. There will be loving in the treetops if they have their way.

Raining so hard here that the peepers are drowned out, and that damn old bull frog is silenced. A real gully washer. Tell you what, I will not wash the truck on Fridays ever again. This is the third time in a row I've washed it and it rained the next day. [booze]

things that make you go "hmmmmmmmm..."

    Famous Last Words
    Aphorisms
A tersely phrased statement of a truth or opinion; an
    adage.

A slipping gear could let your M203 grenade launcher fire
when you least expect it. That would make you quite
unpopular in what's left of your unit.

-- In the August 1993 issue, PS magazine, the Army's
    magazine of preventive maintenance

    and....

For more than a century, ideological extremists at either
end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-
publicized incidents to attack the Rockefeller family for
the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American
    political and economic institutions.

Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working
against the best interests of the United States, character-
izing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of
conspiring with others around the world to build a more
integrated global political and economic structure - one
    world, if you will.

If that's the charge, I stand guilty and I am proud of it.
--David Rockefeller, from his autobiography "Memoirs"

    Yeah...I've been reading lately...dangerous , huh?

Next thing you know, I'll be thinking....they don't like that...;)

Kim Il Nitwit, the illustrious leader of the DRPK (North Korea) must have rust in his helmet. The latest is to really squash us in the event we launch a pre-emptive strike against his nuclear facilities. Methinks, as a minimum, he has a screw loose. Seems to me squashing a beetle would be less trouble (for him and us.) Then again, it would be good for the DPRK, 'cause us good guys would feel guilty and take it upon ourselves to rebuild the country. In our image, of course, just like Iraq. Then again, maybe the North Korean population is not quite so hell bent to self destruct.

    He is a WHACKO.

What a crappy crappy day this is starting out to be....

A friend of my daughters, got killed in an auto accident yesterday morning early on HWY 17....and a dear friend of mine, Bill , took his life yesterday evening...shot himself.

Both funerals on Sat at the same time...also both viewings on Friday night at the same time...

Bill..my friend..Retired last year. He grew award winning Camellia's and could not wait to travel and enjoy the fruits of his 45 yrs of practice here in Fernandina...He was an opthamologist....Everytime I saw him , he was so excited...

I cannot imagine what has happened...but I am calling his wife today and headed over there...see what I can do.

Some days...I just don't understand the plan...and I guess it's not up to me to understand...

I did what we do when someone dies...

I cooked. Took food over there. Today I will attend both viewings.

Figure I can duck out quick and then not have to attend both funerals tomorrow.

This custom of viewing the body? Barbaric.

I swear, I will haunt anyone that does that to me! For eternity...

Both so hard to understand...but thank you for your thoughts and condolences...It means a lot...

I just wonder what would make someone who has it all...take a bullet to the head? Retirement...Set financially...Good kids...Great wife...

Guess I need to stop wondering...I'll never have the answers...

    Ok..off to get ready..

    See y'all later...

How very thoughtful of you! I bet that the family really appreciates it.
I think it's for those who didn't get to see them before they passed to find closure. My grandfather called me the day before we were set to leave to see him and told me that he wouldn't see me, as he was on the last trail home (old cowboy). I asked that he hold on if he could. He did pass before we arrived. I went to see him and believe that it helped me close his passing and wish him well on his happy trails.
There's often more than that which we can see (or that people are willing to tell) in everyone's life.

It's good that you have fond memories and happy thoughts of him to carry on. With those, he will live on forever, if only in your heart (which is the best place to live in this world).

    Ok...against my wishes...I went.

I swear..my children better never ever never do that to me...

The Haunting will commence the day after. I promise.
