life has a habit of when one door closes, another may open. We just don't know what is behind the door and often in fear or ignorance keep it closed. Sounds like life the last year was one cliff after another. Although it may sound cruel, at least you have a sense of closure with your loss. We are going thru the big A and she now has good days and bad, but every week is slipping a little further away. She is terrified at the thought of a nursing home and I don't blame her, her mother had A as well and a very bad experience with the homes, but at some point it is just more than you can handle alone. Enjoy the gift of the grand kids and it sounds if God knew that you "needed" those ponds and fish to share with them. I hope the new door fills some of the needs that closing the other left. May God and work by all of you lead to many pleasant new memories. Money is a lubricant and helps make life more pleasant, but an afternoon fishing with a grand kid and talking with a daughter can be priceless.
