I like roadhouse better than saloon myself... Saloon does bring to mind an old western bar complete with the push through half doors, dirt street & tie off rail. But I'm not sure that really is the image it sounds like you're aiming for. Well unless you're a Gene Autry fan! Roadhouse says a bit rough around the edges and road weary, could use a few cold ones. As to what would be a great title that goes well with roadhouse... :shrug I'm terrible with naming things. But I think YD is on the right track. It should be something along the speed or open road themes.
Was just thinking...I know, hard to believe right? Why not just call the place Route 66? Still like having roadhouse right in the name though. Maybe The Route 66 Roadhouse? You said you've got a bunch of memorabilia already and more isn't hard to come by. There most likely isn't anything else in Cyprus with the name either. As to name recognition over there, not sure that's a huge factor as you said it yourself, they love everything Americana! They'll love it just because they know it's American and they'll get to know the back story as time goes on.
Ape Hanger Roadhouse? (Anything evoking a primate would work for me.) I guess, if it were me, I'd avoid using a corporate name (Harley, for one, or possibly even Sturgis) anywhere in the name simply to avoid H-D's propensity to jump on a trademark infringement, real or otherwise.
I'm liking the roadhouse a lot. And actually about everyone I have met in the biker community knows Route 66. I just brought back a bunch of Route 66 pins, mugs and shirts for the H.O.G. group. As for copyright, that isn't a concern right now but could come up if the island reunites and the north comes under the EU. But why risk the headaches. That's why my one idea was "Easy Riders Saloon" . The movie is "Easy Rider" and the magazine is "Easyriders". Maybe Easy Riders Roadhouse. No doesn't roll off the tongue right. I like Route 66 Roadhouse, that's a keeper. I'll run it by my partner and see what he thinks. See how it would translate to the locals. I don't want it to be just about bikes. I want to include the classic car guys and the theme of Americana and the open road. Have a map on the wall showing the old Route 66 route across America. Maybe some photos of some of the iconic landmarks on the route. Motorcycle seats for bar stools and maybe a couple of bench car seats along the wall. A couple of old 50's style cafe booths and a some round tables with the chrome edges and red vinyl chair seats. A real Mel's Diner look. I have all kinds of ideas. Just have to see how the investors come through and what kind of budget we will have. I planned on doing it all myself, with my own money, but I think it's becoming a lot more than I first envisioned.

I have been by the "Cadillac Ranch" many times. I grew up on Route 66 in Oklahoma and traveled the old 66 out to visit relatives in California many times, back before they completed I-40. We had a few regular stops along the way. The Tower Cafe in Shamrock, Texas, Fort Courage in Arizona. I remember going through downtown Gallup, New Mexico at night and my dad telling us to lock the doors! We stayed at that motel where the rooms are shaped like tepees. Good memories.
As a child, we toured the US, by car each summer, from Ohio to California and back. You have been to the painted desert and the Petrified Forest? Slide Rock?

Nice ride. I'm looking at an Indian Chief or Bolt. Way far apart on price and ride and I'll be doing a test ride when I get into "The Big City" in a couple of weeks. Test ride may make me decide, or not.
