Good to know... I will make sure to honor his request for new ones!!!! Tell him AIRBORNE soldier, from one old dog to another!!!
He is an old dog for sure. He'll be 75 next month! Not much chance of getting him on the monkey, him and computers aren't a good match!
Thanks @Yard Dart this is bad news. Now if I can just learn how to brew it. I don't really need to have the stuff from Scotland.
I bought that 21 yr old Glennfiddich. It is a nice Scotch. The best description I have is "heady". It has rich oak flavour with hints of chocolate. Very rich and heady. When I went to buy it I noticed a new bottle on the shelf that cost even more than it. This is a small village market with an even smaller liquor section. Due to the large number of Brits living in the area they tend to stock a good supply of Scotch. But most of the them are retired and on a fixed income so they save the expensive stuff for tourist season. They have just started stocking more variety in preparation. I was surprised to see that it was Johnnie Walker, Blue Label. I have never been a fan of the Walker brothers, Black and Red. I always considered them a cheap whiskey. I had recently seen an episode of Supernatural in which the brothers were sent to meet another hunter and were told to bring a bottle of JW Blue or the guy wouldn't let them in. In the scene they are drinking and make the comment that it is the best drink they had ever tasted. So the next time the wife sent me to the market for milk and eggs I came home with another expensive bottle of booze. All I can say is "Wow". This stuff is worth every penny. Very smooth. It is a blended Scotch and not as heavy or heady as the Glenfiddich. A perfect match to a good cigar. This is going to be my new favourite I think.
I need to go and purchase a box of cigar's to hand out and celebrate our "soon to be" grandson's birth....he is a week late.... so it will be anytime now!! Any recommendations on a good cigar with a "middle of the road cost"?
Dutch Masters Panetellas served for my three. Not a connoisseur tho'. Other than that, see if you can find an English brand that uses Connecticut Valley wrappers.
Thompson cigars is another good online store. They have variety packs of different brands. For a middle of the road but decent smoke I would recommend a Rocky Patel or a Ghurka.
Ok lounge lizards, found a new favorite companion to my stogies. This is one fine drink. Very, very smooth. Thanks @runswithdogs for the heads up! Jura Whisky
But its way better. A "spook friend" turned me on to them. If you cant get them, let me know and I will send you some to try.
I am coming back to your neck of the woods next monday night 6/6, Let me know ofmyou want me to bring you some.
A beautiful combination!! Partagas Series E No. 2 and Jura Original Single Malt. With a sea view, doesn't get much better than that!!
