Survival Reloading and an interesting real life example

Why stockpile ammo? Piles of guns laying around? Well I DO agree, there WILL be piles of guns laying around, BECAUSE THEY WON"T HAVE ANY AMMO FOR THEM! A gun with out ammo is called "club"! THAT is why you stock pile ammo!

 

That is also why I stockpile brass, bullets, lead, powder, dies, primers, and funny looks from friends and visiting family who happen to walk into my work room. I just smile, shrug and say "It is a hobby." Little do they know.

 

I have expanded my inventory to some popular calibers that are easy to cast for and work well with BP and lead. As some mentioned, primers are weak link. There are ways, though, to make crude primers.

In the end, having a good flintlock is the best option IMHO.

 

I have recedntly started reloading, both to learn a new and useful skill and to help me save on ammo- I shoot a lot.

A discussion on another site I visit got me to thinking about primers; it didn't take long for me to decide on adding black powder weapons to my inventory, along with the means of making bullets and books on making powder.
