Hose 'em off in the yard. They're tough. And, you will save a ton of energy.

 

That's what we do in the summer.

 

Good system , Do a fancy float switch to turn on the DHW & use a solar collector to add the the DHW. It will save the harvest time .

I bought a big relay that I am going to hook up to a second water heater that will kick on when the batteries are charged. I want the water heater to run as long as possible because it is a heat pump type and I use it to cool and dehumidify the house. I did run insulated lines to a spot outside the house where I intend to build a solar water heater for winter use.
