I didn't buy those. I think he got them at Home Depot. I told him we should have 6 on hand of our own but I assumed he'd check around for used propane tanks and.... he didn't... he just bought them and they were here when I got home from grocery shopping. When we get ours filled, we never get our own tank bank so it was a stupid move buying 6 new ones. I agree with owning not leasing but I guess he wasn't thinking when he did that. Call around locally for used propane tanks... I'm sure they're out there. I'm looking for a 100 gallon used to put in our garage.

EQ... Be VERY careful when storing Propane Tanks inside ANY Livable Structure, or a structure connected to a Livable Structure. Propane is heavier than Air and if you have a leak it will slide along a floor, and slowly build up to EXPLOSIVE concentrations. Once that happens AND spark, Electrical Switch or Static Discharge will cause you to have a VERY BAD Day.... .... We like having you around the Monkey Tree....

What do I do with them>>>? I've got 6 of them. I can't leave them sit outside or I'll end up getting a pink note on my front door. There are no leaves on the trees and that witch bought a telescope and she can see into our backyard. I should have my husband return them. He shouldn't have bought brand new ones anyway. He's leaving for Houston tomorrow.... he comes back the end of the week. He can take them back next weekend or give me the receipt and I'll return them.

pink note?? what witch ?? you got a bad neighbor? I have mine in the garage, I hope there safe there. I have all my canisters for the heater in my basement

No.... not a good idea to put them in the garage especially if.... it's attached to your house. He's right. Waaaaaaaay unsafe out there.

The witch is our Homeowners Association President. She has business cards that let everyone know who she is. Pink notes are the little stickems she puts on your front door warning you of a bylaw violation. This woman is one of those people you learn to treat as if she's got TB.

I had a neighbor once like that and her husband was a cop. This eventually led to a very funny story involving tree-frogs, a 12 gauge shotgun, and my daughter's wedding.

EQ... I got your eMail, and I WILL respond, today... and give you a few ideas on this issue, as well as the others... No Fear, it is JUST a precaution , that can have deadly consequences, should you have a small leak from a tank or valve...

No... you were 100% on the money. Ours are new and the risk was probably low but.... I still returned them last night. Older propane tanks that have been banged around would most certainly pose a higher risk. I don't want any propane tanks stacked along the wall in any garage that's attached to our house.... I wasn't thinking when I lined them up like little soldiers out there. We'll buy used propane tanks and store them using your idea. We can't do it now but.... we can once the weather warms up and we can move some things around in the garage. It'll give me time to find a source for used 15 gallon propane tanks anyway.
