So what did you put away this week?

Fire starters are something I'm pretty good at, I recently assembled a fire starting kit for a teacher who needed help with that skill. I have found that those round cotton makeup pads soaked in paraffin wax work very well, and burn like candles. and a pringles potato chip tube will store a lot of them like chips, even more if you quarter them. Dryer lint and wax works very well, and several tubes of superglue on a cotton ball will combust on it's own.( exothermic reaction)( I have many more ways to start a fire )

Just scored replacement batteries (new) for my i560 nextels. with plenty of extras.

 

Altoids containers, Sucrets containers (they're plastic now, I remember the metal ones), and some small baby food jars.

 

I use plastic film containers (35mm) i get them for free friom wally world.... just ask...

 

i think you can probably get a few empty pill bottles for free at the pharmacy if ya ask also ...

 

Since my husband and I are both diabetic (medicine controlled, and I just got mine reduced!), I have LOTS of empty pill bottles. Thanks for the suggestion, KAS!

My silver stack got fairly respectable today with the addition of twenty Walking Liberty halves and six more mercury dimes. Got a long way to go to get to my 500 ounce goal, though.

I really gotta keep a closer eye on our supplies. Didn't know we had an unopened bag of cat litter, and we bought 2 more today, so our cats will be happy. My salad garden is starting to sprout, and my horseradish is putting out its spring growth. An oyster mushroom kit we bought last month has finally started working, by Monday I figure we can harvest some

 

How hard are those mushroom kits, anyway? I've been tempted, but I'm hesitant.

 

The one we got, you cut some slits in the plastic covering, soak it in water for 12hours, then afterwards just spritz it a few times a day until it's all harvested.

 

Is that all? I think I'll actually get one.

 

I'm sure the 'rules' differ by variety, but I'd opt to get one from Fungi Perfecti if you're really interested.

The wife scored 5 trees for free ...
We power company came to the house and said we want to cut down that tree neer our power lines ...
She said whats in it for me ... we got some sorta vaucher or reimbersement for 5 trees.
So now we have 5 fruit trees for free...
