FWIW, all my pets have been cremated. When my wife died from Alzheimer's I had her body cremated as well and when I'm dead then I'll be ashes too and we'll all be scattered together overlooking the garden and the creek. My little family, still together.
Thats what were having done, only feasible option really when your dealing with a 220lb dog. We still have ashes from or other 2, decided were going to take some ashes from all 3 and scatter at the tree in the first picture. One of the places they all loved to visit
When DH died, it gave me great joy to mix his ashes with the ashes of our last 6 furbabies and imagine the greeting he got at the Rainbow bridge. No room in the urn for me when my time comes, but that'll be the daughter's problem. ;-)
