It's a neat trick, adding a step to your door opening. Might also bend the striker or flex the body. I'd want to torture test it on a salvage yard car before I tried it on my car. It would ruin your camping trip if you couldn't shut the door after you get your junk off the roof.

If there isn't already a step to get up on top of your car, it's because you shouldn't be up there.

 

Bad enough I've caught ducks and gulls while fishing, I don't need to catch them by hand. Flying rats.
