    Recently bought a stainless steel water bottle via Amazon. It has a tag with the line, "Contains a substance suspected by the state of California to be a possible carcinogen". Really? STAINLESS STEEL!?

    Only chemicals are listed for Prop 65 but maybe there is some surface chemical that might qualify. Otherwise, maybe it isn't worth the effort to individually research and label every product so they put the label on everything "just in case." Makes sense to me

    Well, ss stuff is made from an alloy containing toxic heavy metals. The warning is so you don't try to eat it.
