No kid I knew had nut allergies in the 50’s. Amazing. Allergies are big business.

 

Peanut butter is part of my preps. I like Peter Pan and usually keep 4-5 of the 16 oz jars in the pantry. It is a good source of fat and protein, is shelf stable, and lasts for years. It will keep longer if stored in the refrigerator and/or if a layer of honey is added.

 

Years ago, there was a company selling fried peanuts...whole peanuts, in the shell. They were good, but LOTS of oil and fiber!

 

Favorite peanut butter sandwich ever, is called the butthole sandwich.
It consists of a toasted bagel, with peanut butter, bacon, and honey.
Very calorie dense and travels very well
