Olympics Last Supper? WTH?

I don't have to watch the Olympics on TV or online, I can keep track of the medal count in the local newspaper and if anything extra ordinary happens there will be an article or two. I save hours each day and when it's all said and done it's not vital that I know any of that stuff.

 

I miss Soviet weightlifter Vasily Aleviev, that big Russian could move some serious weigh!

 

The company " C Spire " is at least 1 of the companies that pulled their advertisements and support from the Olympics ,,, I sent them an email in support of their decision. Just to let them know they are not alone .
If you have time ,, let them know you support their position.

The 2024 Paris Olympics suck big time! The opening ceremonies sucked, #1- the whole boat thing, while new, sucked and would have been better in a covered stadium, #2- the Olympic Cauldron isn't even real fire, just LED lights and water vapor, and #3- the whole last Supper thing! The Seine River is so nasty that they may have to cancel some swimming events, apparently there was no Plan B! The food is so bad that the ENGLISH have had to bring two chefs over to serve properly prepared food for their team, it seems that no one told the French that elite athletes don't tend to be vegans, prefer their meat cooked, and eat a lot of eggs and chicken. The mattresses provided to the athletes, which are made of recycled materials, are so uncomfortable that the athletes are replacing them at their own expense. Also, the French seemingly don't get the difference between South Korea and North Korea, because they keep referring to the South Koreans as North Koreans. I know that all Olympics have their problems, and maybe Paris is just trying to get them ALL out of the way as soon as possible, but things aren't looking good. Oh well, in 2 years there will be the Winter Olympics and in 4 years the Summer Olympics will be somewhere that is NOT France!

 

The French seem to have this superiority complex let me remind them WE saved their asses in WWI and WWII, they got their asses kick in Dien Bien Phu Just sent C Spire an email in support of their pullout of the Olympics

 

Did you ever hear that the reason the America got involved with Vietnam was due to DeGaulle threatening to leave NATO (again?) if Eisenhower didn't get involved? I don't know if that is fact or fiction but certainly seems like something DeGaulle would do. I also heard that at one point he threatened to join the Soviet bloc if his demands weren't met which seems a bit extreme, but it was DeGaulle and he's indeed French so...

 

I heard that some French and Americans warned the USA not to get involved in Indochina, because of lack of infrastructure and the fact that it was a messy civil war. They advised letting the communist win and making a stand in Thailand, claiming that the communist world would be drained and tied up for decades trying to rebuild and modernize the place, much like Cuba. However, it was the Cold War and we had to fight the spread of communism.

 

Also, the Olympic Village doesn't have air conditioners, leaving some teams to relocate to hotels or buy small AC units for their rooms. It seems that the Paris Olympic Committee cares more about their woke agenda than excellence in sports.
