I was originally headed to school for my PhD in Neuroscience. Did a few years of counseling and figured I didn't want to spend the next 30 years paying off student loans. So I became a software developer (.NET , C# mainly). I work for a company out of NYC that builds identity theft prevention software in which I am part of the web applications developer team building companion management interfaces for the networked clients. I used to teach software development at the local ITT as well, until they killed the course.
Hats off to you. That's the toughest job I've seen posted yet; and I say that with sincerity as my wife is a CPA and is pretty much MIA during this time of the year which pretty much puts me in the role of Mr. Mom for 4 months.
Jobs I've held include: Farm worker, building construction, (USN) electronic technician, mechanic, plumber, electrician, HVAC, boiler operator, and back to farmer part time. Presently I'm a too disabled to hold a job ~ veteran. Own a micro farm which I cash rent to a crop farmer. I do the maintenance around the place mostly from the seat of the tractor. I also am a general class licensed Ham radio operator. Oh yes, and I am a dad and grandpa.
