Having money with Fidelity and having them manage it are two different things. I had money with Fidelity for years in unmanaged accounts. I simply played manager and directed the investments where I thought would generate the most return.

Once retired about 5 years ago, I had them manage it. They did well while Trump was in office and the economy was healthy. But as soon as Dum Dum took over in 2021 they were only able to lose money.

So now they no longer manage it, the independent manager does that.
And, yes, he's a fiduciary.

He may be a pervert too and prefer whips, chains, Great Danes but that's his business. As long as he makes money for me I don't care what he does on the side.

 

Remember, that Bogle has been dead a long time, and that any information about financial institutions is dated! What was good 25 years ago, may not even still be in business today!
