   I can poke fun at TN because I lived there for just under 10 years and 12 years in KY before then. I spent more of my life as a southerner than a northerner.
   
   That said, I prefer TN over NC although I lived less than 10 miles from the border and spent quality time in both... The Smokies are the Smokies no matter which side of the AT your on.
