My parents had to tie my swing down,I was seeing how far I could get the legs up without turning the swing over. My mother was having a fit like mothers do.

 

Yep, we did that as kids. We was so stoopid!

 

Our goal was a 360, Yeah I was dumb enough or fearless, A helluv a combination.

 

Our "swing set" was a pole between two trees with a rope swing and a board seat. We'd take turns pushing each other. Did get above that 90 degree angle a few times. I have the feeling if ya were lucky enough to get to 180 trying for the 360, all would have collapsed back to zero with someone going to ER or worse.

OTOH, try going so high with that kind of swing, you'd never uproot those trees.

 

How did we ever survive?

 

We weren't coddled all the way to adulthood. We didn't get prizes just for showing up . We were made to go outside and play , deal with the elements of nature , learn from our mistakes . We fell down , we got up , dusted off our britches , and went back to trying to make the next jump a success .

 

Pure joy.

I lived in Oregon for 10 years...never saw anything like that... think im glad I moved before that showed up

 

I'd love to see that thing trying a hill climb ,, it'd be funny to see that thing bouncing down the hill like a ball . I can see the screaming faces pressed against the windows with gaping mouths now.

 

It is probably @Mountainman's new ride....

 

This guy gets Flounder in the pan even faster than I do! But I don't have to worry about seagulls.

 

Oh yeah, Went trawling with some of my pad-naas several times we fried up fresh shrimp on the boat!
