I agree fully with her sentiment, and that's been the case here in the States by law and in my experience for virtually all of my 58 years in at least a dozen jobs. Men and women of equal education, experience, accomplishments and time in the workplace have also gotten equal pay as well, and I've spent time in both the public and private sector' union and non union as well. I'm certain there are cases of inequity here, but they in my experience are the exception and not the rule. Seems some people need a cause even after the war has been won.or perhaps she is referring to countries where women are still considered property or at best second class citizens. Can anybody tell us what thing most of those countries commonly share in acceptance?

 

Preparations are underway for the funeral of Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA. It's been postponed for a month because a bag of screws was missing.

 

My son did the same thing..... except he ate the dog food.

 

I have never been through a hurricane and I do not think these people have either. I think putting the wood on the outside would work better.

 

But the dog be like "It's cool. I share with my Bud..."

 

If the potential exists for hurricane force winds , wouldn't it be prudent to install shutters for the windows and replacements for the screen/glass doors ?
I Guess common sense is not so common.

rather than plywood, why not something a bit more permanent?


Euro-style rolling shutters.

 

Would be good for security as well
