I have never seen anyone get OUT of a wheelchair into one of these things.
They walk in just fine, then for some reason, they're disabled.

 

I care for a friend that is almost wheel chair bound ,She can walk with a cain but not very stable . so I fetch her one of those chairs in the store and she can then feel the freedom of shopping on her own.
Some times she can get up off that chair to reach something, but it's best she does not try. It's been expensive every time she's fallen.
I agree there are a few that abuse the privilege ,but I'm so very thankful for those stores that provide them, for friends like mine that need them.

 

It burns me when I see those being used by people who don't need them, and I'm related to people who do. What really gets me going is when I see people who are young and obviously healthy using handicapped parking spaces, especially when they take the last one. I have the permit, which I used for Dad before he passed away and for my wife who currently can't walk very far. I hardly ever use it, and instead drop her off by the door then find a regular parking space. No way will I prevent someone with a wheel chair from having that spot.

 

I am glad they are available for people who need them and I know there are many. However, mostly I see people who are simply overweight and just don't want to walk and need to.

 

Apparently they are trouble makers

 

I think I'll skip Ohio on that next road trip
