True that. The rivers were once 55 feet above flood stage during the Columbus Day Storm. That was devastating, along with pretty amazing winds that among other things picked up our carport, but nothing near the results of a major fault shift.

 

Depending on who's wearing it I might want to be dyslexic...

 

During Katrina ,watching the news I was commenting to a co-worker , the devastation ,the co worker replied "I don't care ,so long as it's not happening here" .
I wanted to say , those same things can happen here in other forms ,like earthquakes and flooding and fires as well. many I spoke to did not want to face these reality and pretend their world can't be shaken.
A year or so later a co -worker died in her car being caught in a flood from heavy rain on a major highway on her way to work.
i guess I see life differently and the things that happen out side my zone of influence are just as real and serious .

Some of the cheapest life lessons that can be had.....
