look for "bicycle junkyard" with your fav search engine.

You will be shocked. I had no idea that not only such a thing exists, but that there are so many. Imagine the fun things you could make from/with the salvage...

for safety, some boat owners add "flotation cells" in case of an accident.

last boat pic. I miss my sailboat this time of year. When I lived in Las Vegas, I could and would go sailing in the warm sun out on Lake Meade.

The warm sun is still here, the lake, not so much....

    they still report the waterlevel
    Lake Mead Water Level

they just pulled an Obummer and changed how they displayed the graphics so it doesnt' look so low.

What is the actual bottom/lowest level? 1074 feet? 1074 meters? Otner?

    It's measured in feet

And the low spot is? The reason I'm asking is that frequently graphs cut off the lower values and I'd like to know if the lower elevation in the graph is the bottom. It's a bit strange that it's displayed with elevation as opposed to depth - I was in an industry that among other things provided hydro customers real time measurement and it was always in depth and positive flow.

I believe full at the dam it's about 1,200' (1,225' highest), I've been on the tour, the dam leaks like a sieve...

Google Earth shows elevations of ground under water. Uv cuss, it varies all over the place. If you are interested in the lake elevation at minimum pool, well, that doesn't show.
"At 895 feet, the turbines won't run, a level they call “dead-pool.” Drought in the southwest is challenging operations at the Hoover Dam, the nation's largest hydropower plant."
There's a drought trigger level, I think that is 1024 feet but you'll have to confirm. Also, I wasn't able to find an elevation where they shut off water entirely for any purpose.

I believe every damn leaks like a sieve, they design them with some give. Hoover got a bypass bridge for security reasons I use to love to drive across it on the way to Vegas.

And about the Drought in the West. When is Hollywood going to give up golf and swimming pools? I have no sympathy for the Metropolitain Water District. Its like a giant leech on the Colorado River. They pump more than their allocation and the Feds have not been enforcing this over draft. Democracy at work. Majority wins the water. They need serious water moritoriums in California metro areas but no one enforces them.

MWD has taken water form 5 different water systems outside of the LA basin and dried up whole lakes and valleys in CA just to provide golf courses, homes and swimming pools. [soap][axe][sinking][BSf][IMG]
