I can actually say I've done that! My 2nd deployment (1984), our skipper thought it would be a great idea, to anchor off the coast of Oman, once a week, for 2 days, to "give everyone a break". The Omani Air Force would provide a CAP (combat air patrol) for us, while we were in their territorial waters. Problem was, the term "Holiday Routine", on an aircraft carrier, typically means "holiday" for those working topside, and "routine" for those working down in the Engineering plants, where we were still making electricity, steam for cooking and heating water, fresh water, etc! Gee, thanks, Captain!

Once I figure out what that was, in REAL dollars , not so much. Comes out to $26.25 US dollars. Last time I bought boxes of 525 rounds, at Walmart (just a month or two ago), they were going for about that much. Could only get 3 boxes, but it brought my personal stash up close to 10K rounds. Ought to be enough.....for now!
