Motivational Poster Thread (warning content)

I remember being in DC on during Veterans Day, maybe 1995? Rolling Thunder was new to most of the urban locals who were celebrating in the Mall (humungous cross shaped grassy area between the Capital, White House and Lincoln, Jefferson Memorials) were obviously feeling intimidated by them. If you haven't been there on Memorial Day you need to put it on your bucket list. It's not just rolling thunder, but all the vets from all the wars congregating.

This trip was also my first visit to the Vietnam Memorial. It's an intense emotional experience. Even though it's open and cut into the side of a small hill, it feels like you are walking into a very dark tunnel. Very hard to describe the exact feeling. It's the same every time I have paid my respects there.

I tried to explain some of it to my wife, when we were newlyweds. It wasn't like I wasted the time, since it was the only way that I could realize that she could never comprehend the 'nam.

I'm with Sloth on this one. I will never be convinced that this wasn't planed so the Patriot act could be fast tracked
