Back around 83-84 when I was over seas ,,one Sunday morning the chaplain came out to give his service in one of the GP tents. The GnySgt told me to go back to the rear to get some gear,, I asked him what to take,,he said take that jeep,,it was the chaplain's jeep .
When I got back ,, I pulled it back up right where I took it from,, when I got out of thebjeep,, I could hear the Chaplin in the tent ,, "cussing like a sailor " ,, because someone stole his jeep,,, as soon as I heard all that ,, I grabbed all the gear I went after, and ran around to the other side of the tent so he didn't catch me near the jeep.
I don't think that Chaplain came back to our AO for the rest of the tour.
That was my introduction to " cussing like a sailor" ,,, but I never expected it from the Chaplain .
I'm just happy he wasn't outside the tent and seen me pulling up in it .

 

After reading the fine print I could believe it,, those NC prices were after that Queer dude got his Pic on the bud light can,,

 

I was on deployment in 1983 too, but on a Navy ship. I'm an ex-sqiid. My salty old Seniorchief taught me a whole lot of new "Navy Vernacular"! His favorite saying was, "The US Navy, 200 years of tradition unmarred by progress!" I think today though, he's spinning in his grave over what the Navy has become.

 

Rope is why cheaper and more portable.

Yes, I start with 4/4/44. Strange but I remember the celebrations for VE day and VJ days and the parades when the soldiers came home as well as the parade when the guard was called up for Korea. A lot of water has went under the bridge since 1938.
