That's entertaining. Looks like a hotel lobby of doctors waiting room...where the fake socket can be observed by workers.

Snapping turtles are like little bulldozers. I saw one walking toward a retention pond with a chain link fence around it. Didn't even slow down when he hit the fence, and pushed right under it. He swam off into the pond leaving a trail of mud behind as he dove down to the cooler water.

I know them sucker's are strong as hell ,, for their size , it's amazing. I used to help my grandpa clean the ones we'd catch on the trot lines we'd set in them old blackwater creeks and rivers on the NC coastal areas .
I caught and cleaned one a few years back ,, once I started ,,, just the memory of helping my grandpa kind of brought the process back to mind. But it I guess it would have helped if I watched how grandma cooked it ,,, my recipe wasn't as good as hers.
But as they say ,, " All it has to do is make a turd ".

Yes, the first black slave owners in North America date back to when we were still British Colonies. That first group of blacks in Jamestown in 1619 were NOT slaves. Britain didn't have slavery; they were indentured servants and were freed after several years of labor. Most of the freed blacks became landowners and tobacco farmers in Virginia, some of whom had indentured servants of their own, both white and black. In 1643, Anthony Johnson, a black plantation owner and former indentured servant himself, decided that he didn't want to free John Castor, Johnson's black indentured servant, and in 1655 the Virginia courts ruled that John Castor was a slave for life. However, that is not a photo of Anthony Johnson, because photography wasn't a thing until 200 years later, and that isn't the style of clothing that was worn in the mid-1600s, nor the mid-1700s. It is the style worn in the mid-1800s.

On the otherhand, it's very convenient that they willingly and purposely mark themselves so we know exactly what they are without having to engage with them. Much like brightly colored poisonous/venomous creatures in nature. Blue hair.... avoid at all costs! ;)
