I had a set when I was a kid. Great fun, kept me amused for hours.

 

Yep,, and then came the Erector set ,, you could make skyscrapers with that kit .

 

Actually for me, the electronic kit and chemistry set (real chemicals back then, not the "nontoxic" nonsense they use now) came next. I really enjoyed them too.

 

My little brother did the same thing. He saw my girl and
I walking on the far side of a pond and thought he could just
run across the duck weed. It was one of the rare times I had
absolutely nothing to do with him going home all wet or bloody.
