Motivational Poster Thread (warning content)

As a historian I'm stuck with the language of the age. This wasn't called a "cruise or cruisie" lamp or any other cute name. It was a "slut lamp." It was followed by the "double slut lamp," and eventually the Betty Lamp.

Please. Remember that perfectly good words like gay and slut once had different meanings. Gay was joyful and slut was a well-worn rag that served well as a wick.

Where did we go wrong?
