I saw some people who were large enough to get on the get fit or get out plan but never that large of person. The various state guards (not state national guards) will have some bigger people larping. Who knows now…

Fat folks in the military are a leadership problem.
Leaders aren't standing in front of their unit in PT gear leading them on runs, walking around the area, endlessly running the entire unit in circles to put the slowest runners that have fallen out in the front. Everybody hates picking up stragglers, and all eyes should be on them if they quit. Visibility works both ways. In a functioning unit you don't see any fat officers because they have more eyes looking at them. Small unit leadership works when the unit forms on the Company street with the Commanding Officer facing his officers in front of their units after reports have been made and salutes exchanged. You can't do this via email or Zoom. It's simple. Lead from the front or go find another job where you'll never be responsible for leading men into battle.
