My old seadaddy, Seniorchief Neil K. Normandin, had a favorite saying.... "The US Navy, 200 years of tradition unmarred by progress!" Sadly that has been reversed in these last few decades. He's gotta be rolling in his grave.

No surprise my state, Florida, is among the highest. Way too many Old Pharts from other states migrate down here.

 

Everything old is new again. In the early 1980's we had the last few draftees... and we had promotions based on time in service. This resulted in totally unqualified, illiterate idiots in leadership positions. It was a dangerous time.

Fast forward to today. Imagine the trouble an internet warrior can get into. "Siri, how close is danger close?"

Leaders need to make split-second life or death decisions. You don't have time to Google it, or like in the times I remember, ask a "College Boy" (who's a Lance Corporal) what they think.

Is this really a thing, or is it a spoof?

 

I so totally hope and pray this is a real thing! It'd be awesome!

actually they do that today, some of them, but it's coinstar machines. reddit has a thread just for findings there. i've seen lots of silver and even some gold shown.
