My son was in Iraq and parked at some shitty FOB outside of Hit on Christmas.

The 'mail truck' drove up and dumped a load of packages marked "TO: any Serviceman"

His squad got a good-sized box and took it to their hooch. They were thinking cookies, candy bars, maybe even some homemade munchies!

When opened it, they found a tiny tree with LED Blinky lights. They sat it up under cover and made nan bread pizza and a pizza kit (they had traded for the kit earlier) using a kero stove bought at the local village.

He often says he does not miss the Corps one bit....

 

I spent Christmas day '83 in a bunker , dodging bullets and occasional Artillery fire ,, and I miss that shit everyday,,, Semper Fi ,,,

 

My H&R's a wee bit bigger. 32" barrel, .45" bore. Just loaded up almost a hundred rounds for it. Shooting one at a time, that'll take a while.

And I'll enjoy every, single, one of them!

 

May I point out that in 1866, there was NOT 50 states.
