Even tho I was young when Red had his weekly show on ,, we always watched it ,, and always laughed . Sure seemed like better times then ,,,,, maybe it was just better people.

Long before my time, my amazingly beautiful mother got ran off the road by some ne'er-do-wells outside Ft Rucker while my dad was in Vietnam. As they approached the drivers window they saw the little lady inside desperately trying to get my dad's 1911 to go off so she could shoot them through the window. She was flipping safeties and pushing buttons so much they ran for the hills assuming she would get it right soon enough.

Soon, the 1911 was put in a drawer and a 38 S&W Chiefs special was in her purse courtesy of another officer couple that hadnt deployed yet.

Mom killed a 9 point buck with that .38 by shooting through the camper window screen while dad was hunting. That's another story, I suppose.
