In my AO ,, this was a Falstaff brand ,, about a $ 1.65 a 6 pack .

I remember target shooting with my Uncle , back in the early 70s ,, with his S&W 357 ,,, I remember him saying,, each shot was about 3 beers ,, but , he was talking Budweiser's back then.

 

During the Gulf War we saw some of these. Some just said WATER.

When that Falstaff can came out I was probably drinking Hamm's beer at $2 a six pack. Cigarette's were 50 cents a pack at the PX. I was making about $700 a month.
Felt like a lot of money back then.

 

I used to have one of those, with full A-B markings. A coworker got a case when his area flooded due to a nearby hurricane causing massive river flooding. A lot of folks got MREs too.

 

A True Story ... Carnation Milk

When opening a can of carnation evaporated milk for your recipes just smile and think of this:
A little old lady from North Carolina had worked in and around her family’s dairy farm since she was old enough to walk, with hours of hard work and little compensation. So when canned Carnation Milk became available in grocery stores, she read an advertisement offering $5000 for the best slogan/rhyme beginning with “Carnation milk is best of all ...”
She said to herself, “I know all about milking cows and dairy farms… I can do this!”
She sent in her entry, and about a week later, a black limo drove up in front of her house. A man got out and said,
“Carnation LOVED your entry so much, we are here to award you $1000, even though we WILL NOT Be able to use it.”
