I saw plenty of Marines who had their own signature exit from the ramp. Looks like she'll be chilly.

Never saw one fall straight down and their hair (hair?) blow UP when they got out into the airstream.

This looks more familiar. As soon as the ramp is open the JP8 fumes roll in and it's noisy and windy. On static line jumps at 800 feet I was tempted to just step off the ramp several times to get away from the stink. She looks like she's more at an altitude for HALO/HAHO jumps. Interesting how her hair doesn't move until she waves at the camera.

The Post Office in Stella, North Carolina isn't much bigger. It's tucked under the side porch of the old store.



Stella is one of those small towns that has the signs entering and exiting town on opposite sides of the same pole.

I grew up in a village like that , it's now part of toronto ONT.

 

That Woman was usually about ready to kill me by the time we took down the Christmas decorations.
She had to change LEON back to NOEL every single time she walked past it. She never caught on that
I wasn't the only one changing it. I was just the only one that got caught.

 

These days you could spell ELON ,, just for a little more mix up .

 

OMG we used to do this as kids--- how we didn't get killed is a wonder

 

We used to tie a rope to the car and get on one them round dome sleds , ya had to be careful with that ,, it's like skiing ,, in a curve you'll get slung way out to the side. Keep your rope short,, 10-15 ft.

 

My dad would tow us behind the car with a rope tied to our sleds when we were 9 or ten yeas old. You are right today parents would be hauled off to jail. You know we had a great time and all lived through it---what kids are missing today. As teen agers we wound grab the bumpers of cars going by. One time my brother got his glove caught in the bumper --got dragged about 50' before he got his glove out.

 

We did it on an old car hood, drug by my neighbor's Dad's Buick Wildcat on a wide sand road! We hung on for dear life, and loved it! Great fun back in the 1960s.
