I'm old enough to have actually taken part in those drills!

 

I remember doing that in the basement hallways of my elementary school in Detroit. I never understood what it was about, but I remember the fallout shelter signs. It had to have been 1968. Years too late for duck and cover. Lots of stuff happened in Detroit around then. I remember lots of traffic and fires.

 

Now that I am older here here is what I have discovered …

I started out with nothing … I still have most of it.
When did my wild oats turn to prunes and All-Bran?
I finally got my head together; now my body is falling apart.
Funny, I don’t remember being absent-minded.
All reports are in. Life is now officially unfair.
If all is not lost, where is it?
