I remember epic snow drifts, fantastic sledding, and a white Camaro that I found in the middle of the gravel road to my future wife's house when the sheet metal of the roof made a funny noise when I walked over it. That Camaro was moved out of the way by an enormous front end loaded that cleared the road. The car ended up sitting on top of several sawed off tree stumps at the side of the road when the snow melted.

 

December 1978 in northern Michigan, on 30 days leave during pcs orders to Okinawa! Had to hike out, over 15 ft snow drifts, to the county road to catch a ride to the airport. Ten days later, I was boarding a ship to S. Korea for operations. I remember that year well.

 

I remember my little sister walking up a snow drift and sitting on the top bar of her backyard swing set.
