I think he would have taken whatever position he needed to take to get elected.

 

This story goes that the driver refused to leave the RV because the brakes let go. He drove it to its and his final end because he didnt want innocent people hurt. he missed a long line of waiting cars full of people. If true it helps see humans in a better light. I 'd rather believe the story than find out it is not true.
