Looks like some kind of funhouse at the circus. And what's with the combat uniform being
worn by recruiters? The more I look at this picture the more disgusted I get. What is that
under the purple awning? Is that a maternity uniform? My recruiters wore Dress Blues and
only dress blues. I never even saw a utility uniform until I'd started processing at the Recruit
Depot. More than forty years later Marines still aren't permitted to stop anywhere in town where
they must exit their car while wearing a utility uniform.

My fondest memory of this will always be the day a Marine had come to drop off is his car at the
shop wearing his utilities. He thought he was in the clear. Oh, was he ever mistaken. He was
spotted by a Sergeant Major in a leather skirt, heels and pretty blouse. She excused herself from
her own vehicle check-in process and started ripping into this young Marine like a Tasmanian Devil.
It was EPIC!
She got his name rank and unit and sent him on his way with his tail between his legs. When she
came back in she did a transformation back to the nice lady she appeared to be once again.
I did notice that the veins were still standing out on her neck and arms. Wow!

One day ,, back in my PFC days ,, me and my buddy were headed back to Lejuene ,, Mainside ,, we were cuttin up ,, goofin off ,, we were in our Cammies ,, we had our cover's turned backwards ,, for just a few minutes,, diddyboppin ,,, anyway ,, we got up to a stoplight up near the PX ,, a car pulled up beside us and rolled his window down ,, i looked over and it was Lt. Colonel ,,,, he asked what unit we were with ,,, and chewed our asses good before the light turned green ,,,,we were sweatin bullets wondering if he was going to be waiting at our CO's office when we got to the squad bay ,,,, never did no more diddyboppin after that .

 

I found one like that. Met her in 1971 and married her 35 years ago.
Still loves to go fishing.
