Rules are for the guidance of the wise.....

    Regarding Post # 398

Although Rule #5 is intended as being light hearted humour...and it is a truism in many circumstances. However, Rule #5 is not true in all circumstances.....when your enemy has the advantage in indirect fire support / CAIRS....it's sometimes safer to hug your enemy closely. Sometimes closeness can also be your friend...The VC in Vietnam...and the Taliban in Afghanistan know that very well.

One tactic to defeat an enemy immediate ambush, is for those caught in the ambush to assault directly into the killing group, rather than drop to the ground inside the killing ground: those not inside the killing ground provide fire support, or get a quick flank attack happening...sometimes being among your enemy may at least offer the chance of saving some lives on your own side. Presenting your back and running away may be less successful, particularly if the escape route being offered is mined or booby trapped. N.B. this is a jungle warefare / close country tactic...YMMV in other environments.

Rules can be a useful guide for decision making that needs to be done quickly and under pressure, but they are rules of thumb...and as such, the wise man will try to apply such rules appropriately to the particular circumstances...a rule obeyed dogmatically in every circumstance, may just be the death of you.

More like a case of a hard drive re-format and re-install the OS from the original uncorrupted installation disks. Putting the corrupted files in the recycling bin, as everyone knows does not exterminate the files with extreme prejudice....some fool doofus may recover the corrupted files and place them back in the applications that caused the loss in computer performance in the first place. An upgrade of firewall, anti viral software and anti malware software would also be very advisable. Provided bloatware, adware, spyware and shovelware are kept out of the system, things should run fairly and smoothly.

Paint.NET for some odd reason was not functioning so this MS Paint version will have to do.

OS comes preloaded only with self sufficiency databases and Monkey.NET.
Boot and Nuke with DBAN version AR-15 recommended before installation.
