A table with food and wine in a fictional rendition of a proto Christian story, is no more to the point than a fictional table strewn with political pamphlets and populated with historical communists / socialists. The essential difference between the two images, is that we have far more evidence that the figures in Leonardo Digenio's image actually existed, which is more than can be said of Jesus.







I doubt that Stalin, Castro and Lenin et al stinted their own dinner tables of sumptuous fare, whatever the peons were left to subsist on
