Unless of course one is a Russian general, in which case the work of evil is a career calling, which is rewarded if their evil is effective, and punished if ineffective.

Or one is an ordinary Russian citizen who has been gulled into believing that evil is justified and for the greater good, or is too terrified to publicly acknowledge that evil is being done lest they become exterminated or sent to a labour camp, which pretty much amounts to the same thing.
